Asian Elephant Film Wins 5 Awards(Press Release; April 2000)
Our Small Planet of East Lansing, Michigan has received five awards for our television program "Asian Elephants - Wanted Alive" at the 23rd International Wildlife Film Festival in Missoula, Montana.
Selected out of 254 entries from all major networks like Discovery, National Geographic, Survival Anglia, BBC, and companies like Turner Productions, the film "Asian Elephants - Wanted Alive" received the following awards:
- Best Independant Production, First Place
- Best Conservation Message, First Place
- Best Educational Value, First Place
- Best Script, Second Place
- Merit Award for Presentation of Wildlife/Cultural Interrelationships
Filmed in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal, and Sumatra "Asian Elephants - Wanted Alive" enlightens and entertains viewers with detailed elephant behavior, cultural celebration and efforts to save these large mammals.
